Hi, I’m Mia Cao, FNP. I’m a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a background in both primary and acute care. My experience as an inpatient and float nurse taught me how to adapt to a wide range of patient needs and clinical situations. Today, I bring that perspective to family medicine, where I focus on understanding the whole person and providing thoughtful, individualized care.
Outside of work, I spend plenty of time tending to my house full of plants! I also enjoy baking, hiking, reading, painting, playing tennis, and traveling.
Family Medicine: Providing comprehensive care that considers each patient’s individual health needs, lifestyle, and goals while supporting prevention and long-term wellness.
My approach to patient care begins with active listening. I want to understand each person’s lived experience, personal goals, and cultural context rather than treating a diagnosis in isolation. I pair cultural humility with a holistic perspective, meeting patients where they are and approaching their care without assumptions.
I believe food is medicine, and one of the most impactful decisions we make each day is how we fuel our bodies. Pairing whole, seasonal foods with daily movement is one of the best investments we can make in preventing disease, sustaining vitality, and supporting lifelong quality of life.
I would choose Wu Zetian, China’s only female emperor. Her court was a remarkable crossroads of cultures, filled with foreign envoys, international musicians, and ideas traveling along the Silk Road. She elevated people based on merit and appointed women to positions of influence centuries ahead of her time. I would love the opportunity to experience that world firsthand and learn from such a transformative leader.
